What is WIP?

What do I do with WIP?
First plug yourself in (Facebook/MySpace page, RSS feed, video, etc)., and then plug in to all your friends and favorite stuff.
What are the Me, Friends, Everyone tabs?
The Me tab tracks everything you’re into, anything you WIP will show up there. The Friends tab tracks all your friends everything they’re into and the Everyone tab shows you what everyone using WIP is connecting to right now.
Is there a charge for WIP?
No BABY, WIP is free! And coming soon, WIP can make you money. How do you like them apples.
Will WIP keep track of my searches?
When you search on WIP, WIP automatically plugs you into whatever you search for.
Can I delete stuff from WIP?
You can instantly delete any of your selections whenever you want.
How do I plug myself in?
When you first click the ME tab, you will be prompted to plug in your Facebook or MySpace status, Twitter feed, RSS feed, or YouTube video. Plug in the necessary info and you’re ready to go!
What kind of stuff can I connect to?
Pretty much anything or anyone who has a webpage, blog, RSS feed, video or website that’s available on the web. If you’re not finding what you’re looking for, submit it to iWIP (http://www.wip.com/web/index.iwip). We’ll search for it and make it WIP-able so you can connect to it.
What is iWIP?
iWIP enables you to submit a website directly to WIP’s database. WIP will then determine if that site has an RSS feed or other ongoing content source to plug you into. You can also submit an RSS fee directly to iWIP.
Will WIP cause any other advertising or pop-ups to show up on my computer?
No and Nada! WIP is your deal. You’ll only receive messages from stuff or people you choose to hang with.
Does WIP sell or distribute my personal information?
We believe strongly in individual privacy and created WIP to give the individual more control over their communications. Please see our Privacy Policy for more info.
How do I change my password or account info?
Sign in to your account and click the edit button on Me tile, or the account dropdown from the Me tab.
How do I cancel my account?
If you wish to cancel your account, click on this link http://www.wip.com/cancel, and follow the instructions.

How do I download WIP?
Click the download button and follow the steps to download WIP directly to your desktop.
What does the WIP download do?
The download plugs you into all your favorite stuff directly on your desktop. It syncs with your web account and notifies you immediately of new activity from anything you have WIP’d. We’ve worked on it a lot and think it’s pretty sweet!
How do I get WIP download messages?
You’ll get WIP alerts on your desktop either through your ticker or WIP’s cool alerting system. Click the WIP icon and WIP will open and reveal your messages. Note: WIP Lite (the web version) does not offering alerting.
How do I view everything I’ve WIP’d?
Double click the middle white ring. The slidebox will open and list all your selections. These selections will match what is on your WIP account page.
How do I delete a download selection?
Double click the control ring. The slidebox will open and reveal all your selections. Highlight the selection you want to delete and click the “delete” button.
How do I scroll through my download selections?
Click the control ring either up or down. Your next selection in line will show up.
What can I do with a WIP message?
You can 1) connect directly by clicking the message 2) share messages with others by clicking the share button, 3) scroll through your other messages by clicking the control ring.
How do I share messages with others?
Click the “share” button when you get a WIP message. Enter your e-mail address, the recipient’s e-mail address, a short message and click send.
How do I get back to input?
Simply click on a WIP wing at any time and enter your new selection(s).
How do I get WIP back to resting state?
Click the close (x) box on the slidebox, WIP will go back to its initial (resting) state.
How do I move WIP around on my desktop?
When WIP is in the resting state, click and drag the control ring. You can also click and drag the header portion of the slidebox when the slidebox is extended.
How do I minimize WIP?
Right click on WIP directly (you can also can right click on WIP in your toolbar or your system tray). On the menu that comes up select ‘minimize’.
How do I close WIP?
Right click on WIP directly (you can also can right click on WIP in your toolbar or your system tray). On the menu that comes up select ‘close’. The WIP application will close but all of your selections will be saved.
Why can’t WIP find my selection?
If WIP can’t find your selection, first check that you’ve entered the correct name and spelling. Although we have thousands of companies in our database, we may not currently have what you’re looking for. If that’s the case, to to iWIP and add your selection directly to the database. Thanks!
Can I use WIP on my cell phone or mobile device?
Yes, you can type in your username and password on most mobile browsers and get all your WIP messages.
How do I install the WIP download?
After you have downloaded WIP to your desktop, double click the WIP icon. (We recommend that you save WIP to your desktop. If you have saved it in another location, find the WIP icon and double click it.) Follow the installation instructions to install.
How do I uninstall the WIP download?
Go to your control panel and access the add/remove programs function. Find WIP in the programs listing and click uninstall. Follow the instructions and WIP will be completely uninstalled from your computer.
What is the WIP widget?
The WIP widget can be placed on your personal page, website, or blog to show the world what you are wipping, and enable people to add you to their WIP pages instantly.
How do I add the WIP widget?
You click on the widget button on your personal page or go to www.widgetbox.com, www.clearspring.com and add WIP!

What is a WIP Tag?
The WIP tag is a tiny “badge” that can be placed on your website, personal space, shopping cart, blog, or newletter that enables your friends and fans to instantly connect to you.
How do I create WIP Tags?
Click on the WIP tags button, and choose your tag size or go to Clearspring/Widgetbox and do their thing.
Can I create more than one tag?
You can create and tag as much as you like. That’s different…huh?
Are there any charges for the tag?
No, there are no charges for WIP tags.
Where do I place my tag?
You can place them anywhere you choose.

What types of video files do you support?
WIP supports .mov/.qt, .avi, .mpeg, .wmv, .asf and .mp4 files.
What size video files do you support?
WIP currently allows videos up to 15 MB. If you try to upload a video that is larger that 15 MB, you will either get an error message or the file with not preview properly.
How long does it take to upload a video?
Upload time varies based on the size and format of the file, and the speed of your internet connection. The average upload and encoding time for a 10 MB video file is approximately 90 seconds.
What is the difference between uploading and encoding?
Uploading your video transfers the file to WIP’s servers. Encoding changes the file format to an .flv file, which allows users to view your video through WIP.
Why am I receiving an error message?
You may be trying to upload an unsupported file format, or WIP may not have the proper codec for your file type. A codec is a technology for compressing and decompressing data. If you feel WIP doesn’t have the proper codec send us an email at technicalsupport@wip.com.
What should I do if I get an error when uploading my video?
First, try uploading the file again. If that doesn’t work, try uploading another file format or type. Lastly, you can send us an email at technicalsupport@wip.com, and we will look into the nature of the problem and get back to you with a solution. (Please include the file you are trying to upload)
Can I upload a song?
WIP supports .mp3, .wav and .wma files up to 15 MB.

Other Information:
• Web sites must be functional.
• Web sites must be the owner’s or brand’s own site, and such ownership must be verifiable. All URL’s must directly connect to the content on the Web site. URLs may not automatically redirect users to a Web site not owned by the advertiser. In cases of similar company/brand names, priority will be given to the URL owner.
• Sites must have English or Spanish-language titles, descriptions, and site content to be accepted into the U.S. WIP marketplace. Sites that do not serve the U.S. marketplace are not being accepted for WIP programs at this time. For updated international availability please e-mail customerservice@wip.com.
• We do not currently feature gambling or adult related web sites.
